Can a doctor increase the Electric Currents for a better result of an patient re!

Question: Can a doctor increase the Electric Currents for a better result of an patient receiving ETC therapy?
If a woman is receiving ECT treatments & is half way through the 12 treatments, & showing no signs of improvement can they raise the electric currents for better results.

Answers:

Showing signs of improvement sometimes take longer then 5/6 treatments. This is one treatment that I would not recommend to any one, unless all other options have been utilized and there are no other options, and even then I would have issues with this type of therapy, but that is my personal opinion.
If you discuss with your doctor that you feel it is not working and whether or not it would be beneficial for you to have more electric current, this might help. The doctor might be giving you the amount which he feels is sufficient for your therapy at this point in time, if you do not ask, you will never know.
Hope that helped.

I have never had any treatment for depression that involved electricity but I have had them for the relief of pain and muscle relaxation, what normal people used did not do anything so they had to up the voltage.

They can increase the current if the seizure is not lasting long enough, ECT only works by causing memory loss, a bit like switching your computer off and back on again.
