Question: Would you take a low paying job just to get away from an unhealthy situation?

I'm in a pretty unhealthy situation with some family members, and the only job I found was one that can't even pay my rent, let alone bills and food. They also have a one-year contract. So should I take even this job, or should I wait a bit more, apply to some other jobs and try to find a better paying one?

I'm guessing your family pays for those right now. Honestly if you take that job right now and you have to start paying your bills yourself you are going to find yourself in a much worse situation......Homeless and eventually jobless again. If you can't pay rent they will kick you out. If you can budget though and spend less on your bills and food. Say you give up tv and internet so the extra money can go to the rent, then do if if you can pay your rent and bills.

Can you get a roommate to help you if you move out? What about waiting tables? I did that for a short time and it helped with income.
