No, it's not just you. It's not exactly the same, but I have the tendency to go over every single conversation I've had with someone throughout the day and think, "Should I really have said that? Is that something I would have said before? What if they thought I was weird? What if I wasn't being myself?" Sh*t like that. I don't know your conditions though. I do this because of anxiety and because I'm young and still maturing (I suppose a lot of teenagers go through it). If there's no reason in your life for you to be doubting yourself so much, then it may as well be a really bad problem. But everyone has reasons to doubt themselves. Part of being human, sadly. Just immerse yourself in happy things. Exercise, find a hobby, find friends you can be yourself around . . . maybe you'll break out of the habit of overanalyzing everything. I hope you feel better. <3
It sounds like you are feeling really overwhelmed and maybe anxious. Maybe it would be helpful for you to talk to your family or doctor regarding your concerns and they can help you sort out these feelings. This doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong, but it sounds like you really could use some support in working though it. You could also talk to a school counselor, family, therapist, or pastor/priest. Just talk to someone that you trust and can get you support and help that you need.
If you want to talk, you can also call the Boys Town National Hotline at 1-800-448-3000. You can also email or chat with a Counselor at the website www.YourLifeYourVoice.org. Take Care!
