I would like to know other peoples experiences with weaning off of Zoloft?!
Question: I would like to know other peoples experiences with weaning off of Zoloft?
I have been on Zoloft for the past 2 years for clinical depression & anxiety. For the most part I was on 200mg a day. I felt great, just so normal. In fact I loved it! Expect for the massive out of control weight gain!!! So my GP suggested I taper off of it. I decrease my dose by 25mg every three weeks. i was doing really well, so she suggested I decrease every 2 weeks. All was awesome until I got too 100mg. Not the withdrawals have started. More than anything the irritability & sadness is the problem. Has anyone else been through this? As i am sure everyone has felt, I feel like I am the only one in the world that has ever gone/going through this!! I just want to be normal again!

i've been on 300 mg of zoloft for quite some time. i am on a diet... so i can't really say if it caused weight gain for me... as i needed to lose weight already. after 3 yrs of counselling and psych appointments and meds... i wanted to ween off them all.
i miss my counsellor and my psych. and i had to restart the meds... i was sooo irritable and suicidal etc.
sorry but there is no weight gain or loss from these antidepressant meds
withdrawl problems vary a lot, keep reducing the dose slowly, cut the tablet
