My Friend is Self Harming.?!
Question: My Friend is Self Harming!.!?
My friend is self harming, i am the only person shes told and well i have no idea what to do!.
I think i am in the position to help her but i don't want to make anything worst, she cant talk to her family or some of her friends because there part of the problem!.
I cant really talk to anyone but this is kinda anonymous!.
Any help would be appreciated

I think I would maybe chat with her and try to discover what may be the underlying cause for her distress (you seem to have some idea) and use of self harm as a coping strategy!. If she is ready and wants to receive help then maybe you could contact and support her to a local resource!. If you are UK based I would suggest ringing your GP or NHS Direct to ask for local services!. It depends on her age as well however her GP or teacher (if young) could refer her to a local therapeutic service!. If she is not ready try and ensure her SH is not endangering her health and if not - just be avaliable until she is ready for professional support!. Then again maybe the underlying reason could be resolved in a practical manner and she does not need therapeutic supoort!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You can't do a lot, sometimes a friends help / other peoples help doesn't help the self harmer 'cause they don't know the right things to say!.
Remember you arn't a psychologist!
The best thing you can do is be there for her and help her through an struggles!.
It best thing to do is go to the doctors with her or a school councillor, they can't tell her parents unless she puts her own life or others lives in danger!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
