Question: I am terrified of answering phones!.!.!.!.how can I overcome this!?
I was diagnosed with Social Anxiety about a year and a half ago and I have been seeing a counsellor for trying to overcome fears of presentations and group activities!. I stopped seeing her a few months ago and I don't really want to go back because of this problem!. Does anyone experience this!? How can I begin to overcome this!? I don't understand why I'm so scared!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why not practice with a toy phone!? Also you could have someone to call you and every time you answer they give you some money to buy something that you really want!. Or someone could call and sing your favorite song to you or put you on music that you like!. You could have people that you really like to talk to call you at certain times and then after you get used to that have them call you at random!. You could watch funny movies where they answer and talk on the phone and replay that portion over and over!. Tell yourself I will answer the phone, I will answer the phone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you are just scared of ANSWERING and not talking, then you can let voicemail, or the answering machine pick up!. If you want to talk to the person, call them back!. But if you don't even like tlaking on the phone, let people know so they don't call you!. Most people will understand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
what does answering a phone have to do with the fear of presentations and group activities!.!.!.anywho, just try talking in a small group or picking up phones as practice, and if you mess up just laugh, dont get too uptightWww@Answer-Health@Com
Your fear is literally called phone phobia!. Unfortunately, the best way to overcome any fear is to face it!. Its important to understand that answering your telephone will not hurt you!Www@Answer-Health@Com
