Problems with sleep paralysis?!


Question: Problems with sleep paralysis!?
ive had sleep paralysis and i heard that if you sleep on your back you will get it!. i now sleep on my side but another cause is a lack of sleep and being stressed!. will i get it because im stressed and i have only had 5 hours of sleep for the past 2 days!? (but i sleep on my side) im worried ill get it because my other ones were SO SCARY!!!!! plz help i dont want another one!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I feel for ya!. People who don't ever have it happen, got NO idea!. It can happen when you're sleeping on your side!. It's not as common, but I've had it then too!. Fatigue and sleep deprivation CAN trigger it, but it's not an absolute!.
For whatever reasons, your body's sleep mechanism is out of sync, and the natural chemicals that paralyze the body during R!.E!.M are released while the mind is still semi-conscious!. (keep in mind the "SEMI") What you should do when you feel it coming on is to get up and move around!. Wake yourself up completely, then begin whatever process you do when going to bed!. This'll reset the body's internal mechanism for sleep, and you'll have a better chance of not having another one!.
OR, if you've got a mate!. Tell him/her the cues about what's going on!. People usually have conscious control over one of their limbs!. When I'm getting one, I'll frantically shake my legs to try and get attention and have the person wake me up!.!.!. Scared the $h!.it out of HER too!.!. untill I explained!. Now, the Mrs!. will just make sure to wake me up!.
My sympathies! I've had bouts with sleep paralysis and night terrors for years now, and know how terrifying they are!. Even KNOWING what's going on, and that it's totally harmless doesn't help!. LoL!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had a similar problem when I was pregnant-my hands and arms kept going to sleep and it was scary!. I used a thicker, firmer pillow-slept with arms straight out (not bent up under my head or body), and a body pillow to put between my legs and arms!.
Also, if you try some light stretching before you go to bed, it will increase your circulation and hopefully relax your body & mind before you turn in (try yoga)!.
I have two pillows, one slightly thicker than the other-that I change out depending on if I am sleeping on my left or right side!.

I just posted a question about sleep paralysis!. I have it too! It's so horrible and I hardly get any sleep anymore! Don't sleep on your back, you get it more, trust me!. Mine has rapidly gone down since sleeping on my side!. Stress seemed to bring it on for me!. I was going through a hard time at school!. But I would just sleep on my side If i were you, you get used to it, because I did!.

Sleep paralysis is horrible, worst thing of my whole life probably!. My heart goes out to you!. I have had about 30!. You wake up and you just think OMG thank GOD thats over!. I still dread going to sleep and fear it!. I went to my doctor, but they just looked at me like I was mad!Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry i know it scary as hell ive had it alot but yea dont sleep on your back i get it when i do that too!. and yes it is also caused by stress!.
Scientifically sleep paralysis is : a fluid is released from your head and it tells your body to go into a ''protective mode''!. cuz it feels your in danger or something!.!.!. get more sleepWww@Answer-Health@Com

i know its hard man, really!? you will only get it when u sleep on your back!? i wont sleep that way again!. haha try taking sleeping pills for a few days and after that stop taking it youll get use to it!. IWww@Answer-Health@Com

Theres nothing much you can do to prevent it, usually over time it will occur in less frequency!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
