Question: Does prozac /fluoxetine cause weight gain
I have gained over 40 pounds since I started!. my doctor or pharmacist won't give me a straight answer!. So I am asking average people, my peers!. What has your experience been with prozac/fluoxetine!. I appreciate your answers!. Of course 10 points to best answer!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Although I don't take either of those, I do take paxil, which is an antidepressant!. It does cause weight gain, and my dr!. said a lot of antidepressants do!. When I was suffering from depression two years ago, I lost 40 pounds!. When I resumed taking paxil, I gained all that weight back and then some!. I see my dr!. every three months, and he always monitors my weight closely!. I don't like being overweight, but I'd rather be overweight then severely depressed!. Battling major depression two years ago was horrible!.
At least there are things we can do to lose weight, despite the side effects of our medications-exercise, eat right, curtail junk food consumption, etc!.!.Speaking of which, it's time for me to head to the gym now!
