Does a drug called kolonipin make you cry a lot?!

Question: Does a drug called kolonipin make you cry a lot!?
I have a friend who was severly and repeated beaten by her husband!.The last time he put her in the hospital with broken bones in her face, then left her for good!.She had had some sort of seizures when it happened!.She then went though a 4 year relationship that ended badly 6 monthes ago!.She is working in a very ruraul area raiseing three teenaged daughters and works at a chicken processing plant for very little money!.My question is,is the kolonipin they prescribed her after being in the hospital making her cry all the time or is it from being lonely and miserable!?She says she takes it for the seizures, but I have heard it may be an antidepressant!.Anyone know!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Klonopin (generic: clonazepam) is a medication of the class known as benzodiazepams (this family includes Ativan, Xanax, Valium, Librium, etc!.)!. Neurologists do use it to prevent seizures!. Psychiatrists most often use it to reduce anxiety (nervousness) and help sleep!. Klonopin does reduce inhibitions in way similar to alcohol, so someone on Klonopin might cry more!. On the other hand, it sounds like she has a lot to cry about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are probably referring to Klonopin!. It is used to treat seizures and anxiety!. It wouldn't make someone sad, but if they are already feeling sad it would make it harder to cover it up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Klonopin is not an antidepressant!. It sounds like your friend needs help!. She has been through hell and back!. She will probably need medication and long term counseling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could make you depressed !.
