Question: Has lexapro worked well for you!?
I have read a multitude of stories about how horrible lexapro was!. I am looking for some encouragement to tell you the truth!. I have taken this several years ago and don't remember how I felt on it or what I thought about it!. I am starting it again now (for generalized anxiety disorder) and would like to hear from others what to expect!.
I am somewhat worried about weight gain!. But I eat healthy and get a good amount of exercise!.!.!.so should I worry!?

I just don't think weight gain has a friggin thing to do with this medication!. People get fat from over eating and they like to blame it on anything besides what they put into their mouths!.
That said, I have been on Lexapro for about three years!. It's been a godsend for me!. I have taken other antidepressants as far back as the late 60s/early 70s, before the SSRIs (today's type of meds), and this is by far the best thing I've ever taken!. It helped my moderate depression, and it has removed my anxiety to the point that I am no longer afraid to fly, no longer afraid of elevators, heights, or riding rollercoasters!. I have taken other meds right before this and Wellbutrin made my ears ring, another one made me dizzy, and another just didn't help!. The Lexapro has been a godsend!.
Different drugs work for different people!. Your brain is different from mine!. Work with your doc until you find the one that works for you!. Don't agonize!. Just work with your doc and get better!. Life's too short!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes to the weight gain, helps alot with the emotional part, nixes the sexual urge and all that goes with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have GAD as well and it works wonders for me, I take 75mg!.!.!.No weight gain for me at all and much happier!.!.!.good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
