Hi, scarring will pretty much stay there for a while!. Is there any way that you can cover them up with sweat bands or anything!? They will fade in time, but it may take a whole depending on how bad the cuts are!. You need to be honest with yourself and your friend!. Yeh you have a problem and as soon as you accept that, you can try and find ways to deal with it!. Have you gone to a doctor about it!? Ever taken anti depressants!? Are you close to your family!? Email me if you need to talk!.!.!.i know what you're going through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I also have a history of self harming!. A lot of ppl don't understand the "brain chemistry" involved in self harming!. When you do it, it causes your brain to release endorphins which is why it creates a sense of relief!. You simply need to find a healthier way to increase endorphins (exercise, hobbies, music, dance, etc!.)
You also desperately need to keep a journal to put your feelings in when you feel like self harming!. And I highly recommend therapy (my personal favorite: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy b/c you get really quick results)!.
As for the scars, etc!.!.!.!.my thought is this: it's *your* business & no one else's so you shouldn't even have to explain it!. Just say something like, "I don't want to talk about it right now!.!.!." or "I am working on it!.!.!."
Get some help please!. You're worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Also have issues with self-harm, and I found this website one of the best sources of information: http://www!.palace!.net/~llama/psych/injur!.!.!.

It helps make your self-injury more understandable, which will help you figure out what you need to do to solve the internal problems that are leading you to self-harm!. It also provides great resources for how to explain self-harming to others!.

Professional help is probably best, but I know it can be difficult to get!. Don't give up trying to stop!Www@Answer-Health@Com

if you trust your friend, then yes, talk to her!. if it really helps, i found talking to doctors or complete strangers helped a bunch!. Ask yourself though, why are you cutting yourself!? There are bound to be loads of people in this world who have nothing, and yet they are still happy!. Does it really help or make you feel worse!?
Just think, at the end of the say you have your health, family and friends!. : ) Good luck with whatever you choose to do : )Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your worrying about the scarring!?I don't think so!.Tell your friend she has been there for you before and she'll be there for you now!.Lying about is only going to push her away so be honest!.Go to a counsler or an inpatient facility to get help for this!.They have come a long way with helping cutters you deserve to get yourself help!.Don't be afraid it's only going to make your life better!.best of luck and plz go get help ask your friend to help you find somewhere to get it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should just cover them up, if theyre on your arms, wear a jacket, legs, wear pants, it's not that hard to so, but to help scars theres vitamin E creams and i use bio oil, still not sure if it works well, but try it out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You said you have no one to talk to about it!.!.!.!.obviously you do!. A very caring friend who was there for you the last time and will be there to help you again!. Tell her!.!.!.it helps to not go thru this alone!. I think she would be more hurt that you didn't come to her for help then if you tell her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to your friend, she obviously cares and might be able to help you!. Not to mention spending time and talking with your friend about the reason you cut might help you to feel better so you wont need to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I understand that it's a form of 'relief' from emotional pain and such!. Self harm is a form of addiction!.
If nothing else works, get 'addicted' to other (more positive) things!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tell your friend, she used to help you in the past,so she is likely to help you this time too!.but I really think you should consider talking to your doctor about it!.all the best!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't you think it's more important stopping cutting than scaring!?
Tell your friend what you feel and what you felt, i'm sure you will stop f'you really want it!. Just believe it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

put palmers coco butter on the scars, and tell your friend what you just said!. She cares about you!. Stop cutting yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its a good step to tell your friend or you could just wear long sleeves but really the only way you are going to be able to stop is if you seek professional helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

Vitamin E oil and you need to see a doctor to get some serious helpWww@Answer-Health@Com

TELL UR FRIEND!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I use to cut several years ago!. I'd do it when I was sad or mad!. The blood symbalized the hurt and anger comeing out!. It's very obvious that your friend really cares about you, you might want to consider telling her!. I don't think she'll be hurt, I think she'll be concerned and caring!. Your so very lucky to have a friend like that!. Alot of cutters friends just roll their eyes when they see the scars!. Cutting is an addiction, even though I haven't done it in a long time I still think about it when I am really angry or really hurt!. Try Mederma for the scarring, it worked for me!.
Please, I know you said your not suicidal, be careful because some cutters accidently kill themselves be accidently cutting too deep!.

Often the scars will remain, even after the cut heals!. It depends on how deep the cut is!. Since you have a very supportive friend who helped you through this before, it would be best that you tell her that you have started cutting again!. It is very difficult to hide scars like that for very long, no matter how cleverly you hide them!. Just in case she does see the new scars, being honest with your friend about it would make her more understanding about it than if you lied to her about it!. It might even help your friendship if you are open to her about your problems!.
It is very difficult to stop cutting!. I know this from personal experience!. It is very common to start cutting again, even after stopping!. What I did to help myself stop was to find another way to help cope with painful emotions!. Talking to someone about your feelings helps, or writing in a journal!. If this doesn't work, then talking to a counselor might help!. Counselors are there to listen to your feelings, and it might help to talk about your feelings to someone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi, i'm a cutter also!. i know how addictive it can get, especially after several years it becomes a part of your life!. I too have had friends help me through the struggle!. Without them i dont know what i would have done, i think having friends with you is important as alot of the time you need them for support and just to talk to!. i found without them i cut more, but you do need friends who you are comfortable to open up to and tell them why you cut, so they can understand!.i'm sure you know how hard it is to open up and tell someone about your self harm and i know you probably wont want to tell anyone else so i think you need to tell your friend or else find a way to talk to someone else!. I'm sure your friend would rather you tell her!. I know you feel guilty and ashamed but she will understand!. I also know how hard it is to go out when you have visible scars on your arms!. is that the only place you cut!? coco butter is good for reducing scars, try that allow for them to heal and then try to stop cutting on your arm!. best of luck!. if you ever want to talk you can email me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Aw, Sweetie!. I wish that I could give you a big hug! I'm sorry that you suffer so much from emotional scars as well as physical ones!. There are creams that reduce the appearences of scars!. There is one called "ScarZone" that I've tried on my leg, and it worked pretty well!. However, covering up the scars will only hide what is on the outside!. If you still feel like hurting yourself on the inside, your thoughts will show through to your friend!. Even though it's really scary to tell her, she has helped you all this time because she loves you and wants the best for you!. She's shown that she'll be there to help you no matter what!. Try sitting her down and talking to her about why you're so nervous telling her!. Ask her to keep you accountable if you really want to stop, and above all, look into couseling!. Some shrinks are just plain mush-buckets, but there are other really genuine ones who truly want to help you get better!. You're in my prayers hun! <3 <3Www@Answer-Health@Com
