Does psychologist's help??!
Question: Does psychologist's help!?!?
Hi,
I got diagnosed with RSD, which is a chronic pain condition!. My doctor wants me to see a psychologist!. I am not depressed or anything!. My doctor knows that but she thinks it's a good idea because of my pain, and because most people with chronic pain become depressed!.
What do you do when you see a psychologist!? Do you think I should give it a try!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Hello! Actually, there is a lot of research supporting psychotherapeutic interventions for chronic pain including biofeedback, hypnosis, and cognitive-behavioral therapy among others!. I would suggest searching for a psychologist with expertise in "health psychology"!. Health psychologists are clinical psychologists with extra training in treating the psychological/behavioral side of physical ailments!. Again, be certain that the provider has some experience in pain management (most all health psychologists do)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I would recommend to anyone to see a phychologists, it can be a bit scary at first!. but you have to realise they are trying to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
