Has anyone here attempted suicide through overdosing?!
Question: i'm not meaning to sound insensitive here, but what bad reactions did you have? and as you managed to survive, how many pills did you take? as it seems that there is a very wide variation as to how many pills the body can survive.

i overdosed on vicadin, muscle relaxants, laxatives, caffeine pills, allegra, benedryl, just about everything i found in the medicine cabinet. about 100 pills total. all i remember is waking up in the hospital with a **** load of machines hooked up to me. one of my best friends found me laying in the house and rushed me to the hospital. surprisngly, im not dead. i do have liver damage from the overdose though. spent a month in the mental hospital.
Don't go there.

No. I like my life. But a friend of mine worked in a hospital and a young man came in after overdosing on paracetamol. He had his stomach pumped and spent several days recovering in hospital, and he said he felt really silly for doing it afterwards. Sadly on the 4th day he died from the damage that had been done to his organs.

First time: took a mixture of soluble aspirin and Alka Seltzer. The damn thing was a fizzfest, it was spilling over the glass. This was a failure, and now I can't handle any kind of effervescent medicine. I was 14.
Second time: 14 again, only this time raided my stepmum's medicine cabinet. I think I took diuretics because I spent the whole night running for a wee.
Third time: Took a handful of antidepressants (the downer ones). Went to sleep for what seemed like an eternity. Woke up grumpy.
You know what all this taught me? Not to bother. Life is tough, but beating the tough stuff is a lesson learned which only makes you stronger.
yeah ive tried a few times and ended up twice in hospital it hurts like mad tho! i got a lot of people treating me as tho im some fragile 12 year old after and people watching me and lots of rummers and questions around college it sucked! but i duno how much it takes to kill im apretntly lucky to be here due to the amount i took but every one is differnt i think im not sure! you just take what you got at the time!

it is one of the least affective ways to commit suicide. Many times your body involuntarily vomits out the pills, others you just end up doing permanent damage, mental and physical but not dieing. then you are worst shape then when you started
If you are considering suicde talk to a person. call a suicde hotline. NOTHING is fixed by you dieing people are actually hurt more by your death. Even if you think you are alone and no one cares lots of people do

I have, and is not fun you should seek for help a.s.a.p my friend. The worst part of that hole deal is you'll never get a chance to enter into the gates of heaven please don't even think about doing some like that again promise me OK.
no but my close cousin did each body can survive different but if your body cant take it well sometimes when you take them and dont reach medicall service quick enough and its to late to have your stomach pumped then its to late and it is slow death but not much any one can do . My cousin took quite alot and was in hospital for about a month but still and recovered perfect.But pleasee dont be thinking about it there are many people out there to help people like this not only are you ending your life but causing perminant pain too manny who love you
yes i have I'm not saying what i took if you go to hospital after it then you will get put on a drip and be sick a lot ,and you cant go to the toilet by ur self u have to go in a commode
i took 130+ and was fine after one night. Was hardly unconcious for very long. Waste of time.
Second time i only took 50 of asperin and it was complete hell, i could feel the damage happening from the inside.
one of my friends tried to kill herself with a plastic bag, cutting herself and swallowing 24 random pills, and I called the cops on her i asked her why didn't she actually do it and she said it was harder to kill herself than live her life. She had to have her stomache pumped and they were thinking about taking her away from her mother, they made her stay in the hospital for 24 hours so they could keep a close eye on her, they also switched her depression medication and gave her a larger dose .
I was going to try once, I took 9 pills I think, and something made me stop...I really don't know what it was, I just changed my mind and stopped dumping the pills out of the bottle...I passed out, woke up the next day and was fine, no bad reactions or anything
Overdosing is one of the most dreaded things to come into an ER. Fast action is required, and what a mess. I have seen charcoal covering everything. A tube is shoved into your stomach through the nose. The patient don't see the nasty part of it because they are usually out of it. If the patient survives, they are put in ICU to be monitored. Then usually sent to a psych hospital for follow up. Some pills can be resolved, but some can't and cause damage much later. And most overdoses who are coherent come in begging to live.
