Sooo sleepy?!

Question: I was diagnosed with depression/anxiety 4 years ago, and I have been on medication and going to therapy ever since. Within the last 6 months or so I have been really really tired all the time. I usually sleep about 9 hours a night, and I get so tired during the day that I have to take about 4-5 hours out for a nap every afternoon. It is completely consuming my time, I don't really have a life anymore because everything revolves around sleep. I am at the point where I drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day, and it doesn't help anymore. the doctor has no idea what is wrong with me. She told me that every time I started feeling too tired to function, I needed to exercise, so I started doing that, but it got dangerous because I would fall over.

Do you think that maybe this is just part of my depression? It just started recently compared to my diagnoses so I don't know...

After I quit my job I spent most of the day laying under the blankets on the couch. I finally went to a new doctor. In 2006 I was diagnosed with major depression. I recently decided to see a new doctor. He said that I have symptoms of chronic fatigue and prescribed Ritalin. I felt like a brand new person the very next day. I've been motivated to clean my house and exercise. At times it was hard to get up and even take a shower. I feel so much better now. Maybe get a 2nd opinion. Good luck!

Hook me up with that i hate my life and when im sleeping everything is awesome!

It's the meds. I'm having the exact same problem right now and am seriously considering getting off of them. It's ruining my life; I can't even drive as well as I used to. I feel like someone's draining my energy out through a syringe.

Have you had your immune system checked recently. Maybe its viral?

My sister was depressed, when she got over depression she became very tired.
Not tired enough to take 5 hour long naps and falling over while excersicing.
She had mono.
But I'm not sure if you have that...
Well i hope you gett better soon

?;;

see your doctor and tell her/him about the effects of the medications that your are taking. he may change or lower the doses of your meds.

thats what major depression is. you sleep your life away. and you miss alot in life. if your young in teens you may over come but youve got to work your brain and exercise it. dont think alot about whats going on around you. when you got to bed try and not to think of things. when you lay down be happy youve done your best for that day. build you self esteem get involved be social use your brain as much as you can. when you sleep alot thats less time you use your brain. that may not make since but it will work ive done it.
