If a psychiatrist tells you that they are leaving and they tell you that would n!
Question: Is that really sweet?
Answers: Is that really sweet?
It means he/she cares about you in a professional manner, and that you have touched him/her in some way that will stay with him/her.
sounds like a strange thing to say - but I guess maybe it depends on the psychiatrist
Mine told me that..when my insurance changed and i had to leave
If you are worried about how a therapist remembers you - in a good, bad or indifferent way, you may be better off thinking of how you remember them and their help - as something good, bad or indifferent for yourself.
I'm 39 and this happened to me when i was about 20, I was extremely disappointed and made the mistake of not getting a referral from them to someone else they could recommend. I was resentful that she left and stopped seeing anyone for a long time.
Looking back it shouldn't matter if she was sincere and although they probably remember most of their patients, the extreme ones may stick in their memory banks a little bit more. Was I one? I don't know and even if I was it doesn't make me feel like she helped any more or less than she did either way.
