Without knowing what you think you have, it's hard to say. If you'd posted symptoms I could offer you some guidance.

If you feel sad, google "depression" if you feel anxious google "generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)" if you go between high and low, google "bipolar disorder"

You can talk to your doctor, or ask to see a psychiatrist.

And don't worry, commitment requires a imminent threat to yourself or others.

what makes you think you have one?

You should go and talk to your GP and explain that you want your worries treated es strictly confidential. Explain what you your worries are and then talk about your symptoms.

Your GP is your first line if you live in UK. He will probably ask you what makes you think that. The doctor may send you home as it may be self induced.

Go to a counseling center such as Green Leaf.

There are many books you can find to feel out your symptoms.

As far as I my experiance, and other people that I know's experiance, they try to keep people out of hospitals unless they are a danger to themselves or to others. I imagine you will just need to go to the doctor and they will refer you to the relavent people who cfan help you.

more than likely we all have

You have to go to your GP. They wont put you in hospital, the hospitals are all full, and the waiting lists are too long. Your GP will either be able to treat you his/her self. Or they'll refer you to a specialist as an out patient.
