~do not worry~

close your eyes

take deep
refreshing breaths

have a meditation
or prayer

do not lay in bed with your eyes closed and waste time

~do not worry~

meditate

pray

take for yourself a deep breath

and with each breath

think of something you are grateful for

breath deep

~do not worry~

meditate

pray

close your eyes

DO NOT be a clock watcher

if you lay there in bed all night and you engage in meditation or prayer...
...then this is positive

~don't worry~

breathe deep

what are you grateful for?

focus on your breathing
focus on what you are grateful for

this time you lay in bed awake
be resourceful
do some kind of yoga with your body

start with your feet
say to your self:
"my feet are heavy comfortable and relaxed"
"my feet are so heavy comfortable and relaxed...i can not move them"

start with your feet and continue all the way up your body
taking deep breaths

and if by chance you get all the way to the top of your head and you still "think" you are awake...
...then...
imagine a beautiful place you have been or a picture you have seen...
...and...

go there...

The all natural remedy for you is here - try to drink a cup of hot milk each night before you go to sleep. It's been touted as a folk remedy for insomnia for many years.

Milk contains tryptophan - an amino acid that your body converts to serotonin (the feel-good hormone) and melatonin (the feel-sleepy hormone)- Have you ever wondered why the baby fall asleep after drinking his milk?

I'm the last person that can help you!! LOL It's 3:48 in the morning where I am!!!

i had that problem and even tried natural sleep remedies but the 1 that worked the best was this sleep easy tea. try it:) good luck!

It's funny, because I am up now writing this at almost 4 AM. I would like to know some tricks myself. These haven't worked as well for me, but maybe they will for you:

Drink some hot tea or alcohol (makes me sleepy)
Turn down/off the TV/radio, anything with loud noises, flashing lights, etc.
Read til you bore yourself to sleep
Ask someone to give you a massage
Clear your mind (write down important ideas, events, etc).
Call someone you are fond of
Exercise (wear yourself out)

have a warm bath, drink warm milk, close the lights, don't read or watch t.v 20 min. before sleeping.

I use medical marijuana (Indicas work best). Works like magic. I usually fall asleep in front of the TV, now. Can't even make it to bed. It's expensive, though, and makes me eat too much so I'm looking at a better alternative. The lady at the healthfood store was raving about naka brand l-theanine (she says naka works better than the other brands.) She said she has tried everything, and it works awesome. Also makes you happier all day. I am waiting for them to get another shipment (probably tommorow). She says it literally flies off the shelves. (I'd have to see that one to beleive it, lol!) I have found progressive relaxation (progressively relaxing your entire body from feet to top of head) somewhat helpful and trying to keep my thoughts light and holding my awareness at the top of my head seem to help, too. You could also try meditating by focussing on your breathing. Dreamland tea from Superstore is quite relaxing. Hope these help.
