Klonopin 1 Mg.?!

Question: I have been prescribed Klonopin since 1995. I used to take it 4 times a day, but now, for several yrs, I take 1mg at night.Recently,
I have trouble getting to sleep every night. I wonder if the Dr. can give me something better, but I wonder about being on this drug so long.
I have an anxiety disorder, pretty mild, no panic, unless I have to drive far, in unfamilar territory. High speed I can't handle either. So, I avoid having to drive in the above conditions. Local driving is not a problem.
I worry too much, and often feel just too awake to sleep, even when I am not really worried.
I am starting to wonder if I am a bit bi polar,(mild-like Cylothymia). I hate taking medication, but wondering if anyone else out there knows what I am feeling, and /or could suggest med/s that I could talk about to my Psychiatrist. She's new, my old one, recently retired. Any ideas or med suggestions would be appreciated.

I know how you're feeling and would like you to know you're not alone. I'm missing a hockey game tonight because I can't bring myself to drive there on the highway alone, at night. My daughter is quite angry with me right now.
Perhaps deep breathing and some yoga before bed might help with the obsessive worrying. It really helps me calm myself. I hope you feel better soon :)

Your body may have become immune to Klonopin. You need to try something else

you sound like my oldest daughter with the driving thing, there so many meds out there that's not addicting ask you new Dr, and go on Internet and ask ,whats the best med for anxiety attacks

This could be a new beginning for you.
You have a new psychiatrist so now might be the time to try a medication that is more helpful for sleep.
There are many good ones. You and your doctor can decide which one would be worth a try. Good Luck
