Is this mental abuse?!

Question: my girlfriend is biepolar and her mom calls her stupid and carzy all the time and makes her feel dumb for the littlest stuff
granted the my girlfriend has a bit of an authority problem
and she not very good at showing respect and that makes her mom so mad......my girlfriend get mad at her mom when her mom tells her to do something.
I try to tell her to not get mad and let it go but she is very stubborn and does what she wants
her mom really punishes her pretty hard like grounding her for asking questions and just little things and her mom aggs it on for hours and her mom can ruin anyone's day very quickly but I know she really love her and doesn't know how to deal with her biepolar ( they already go to counsiling and my girlfriend has medicen too).
How can I help both of them, without angering the other????

do what the first person said and we don't know if im bipolar or not anyway thanxs for caring

if you can i would say to there counselor of what goes on. and try to tell her without or with them knowing. its all up to you. try that first and see if it works.

There is not much you can do except maybe to advise her to speak to her therapist about how to handle what is happening at home. If she does not have a therapist, she needs one. A therapist can help her see what she is doing that makes her Mom so mad and what not to do and if her Mom would see a therapist also (not at the same time as the daughter) she could learn how to handle a bipolar child.

Do you know the saying "A man who acts as his own attorney has a fool for a client", well, you are asking for trouble. Get a tongue guard, you'll need it, because you'll be biting you tongue a lot. Hopefully, the counselor will handle it. Many people do not know how to manage a problem except through criticism. Unfortunately, it causes many people to hunker down even more to do battle. Unless you want to be a casualty, and the odds are against you coming out unscathed, you should watch from the sidelines and offer yourself as a haven, in other words, stay out of it. Provide support, but don't agree or disagree. Any opinion you share or action you take will come back to bite you later. This can become a very tricky situation. Good luck
