ok, first of all this is not the first time ive dealed with this. ive actually saved 3 girls from killing themselves and helped them get back to being happy.
First thing: Friends are the biggest thing that will keep you away from depression. Stay with them and talk to them.
Second:Try to avoid depressing songs. Trust me, everytime i listen to one of those i cant do ****.
Third:Just dont do anything stupid. i know that you feel like theres no way back, well guess what, YOURE WRONG! there is a way back! =]
Fourth:If your mom rolls her eyes, then forget her for now, apparantly she doesnt care. Just stick with the help of your friends. Try not to stay alone, that might increase depression.
Fifth: If you REALLY REALLY depressed and you really need somebody to talk to, then hit me up. id be glad to talk to ya even though i have no clue who you are =]

If your mom won't listen to you and take what your feeling as fact. Find someone who will. Friends, Siblings, School nurse, Grandparents, even your friends parents. I beg you to think things though before taking that next step. If you need to just talk there are suicide hot lines for teenagers going though the same things...call 411 and ask, they will direct you!!!!!!! Don't e afraid to reach out for help. People care.

whoa... don't cut youself! i'm sure there's a counselor at your school you can talk to... or you should see your doctor for some anti-depressants. no more cutting okay??!!

Welll first of all STOP cutting yourself. It doesn't really serve any purpose. Next, you didn't mention what it was that triggered this episode of depression. It's hard to say how to get through w/out knowing the why. You are 16, believe it or not, your hormones are running rampant and creating all kinds of imbalances within you and your emotions and reactions. Try really hard to get control, realize that you ARE in control of how you feel and how you react to your emotions. If it involves someone else you need to find a way to express yourself to that person w/out violence but firmly and understood. Find a contructive outlet for your anger and sadness such as guitar playing, painting, a sport, crafts, and when you are feeling crappy really throw yuorself into it. The worst thing you can do is sit around and do nothing but focus on how crappy you feel. You CAN get through this. Good Luck!

WELL YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK,YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND YOU WANT HELP,THAT IS STEP ONE.SO IT WOULD HELP TO KNOW IF YOU ARE MALE OR FEMALE AND YOUR AGE,DIFFERENT PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT CONCERNS,A WEEK BEING DEPRESSED IS NOTHING,WHY DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO BE HAPPY EVERY DAY?WE HAVE TO LEARN TO TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME.ITS NICE TO FEEL GOOD AND LAUGH,BUT WE ALSO NEED TO LET GO OF THE BAD STUFF AND NOT BOTTLE IT UP,LIKE CRYING ,BEING UNHAPPY.THAT IS LIFE IT WILL ALWAYS BE THERE,YOU HAVE TO FIND A BALANCE.IF YOU CAN;T SEE A COUNCILOR,IF YOUR IN SCHOOL ITS EASY,IF NOT A DR.CAN REFER YOU IF YOU TELL HIM WHY,MAKE SURE YOUR NOT SUFFERING FROM P.M.S. SEE A DR. GOOD LUCK.

This is a crisis. Don't try to figure out everything all at once.

I'm sorry your Mom has not been sensitive to your situation. But there is still help available. Either:
*go to the ER at your hospital. They have specially trained people who can help you.
*call a crisis hotline. You can get this from a phonebook, or ask the operator to connect you. A good one is the Samaritans. They specialize in helping others considering suicide.
*do you have a therapist? If so, call him/her right away and make an appointment ASAP.

Don't let the feelings overwhelm you. Please do one of the above. I wish you the best.
