adderall is to strong for me i take Ritalin and i can fall asleep even if i take it late at night..maybe you should lower your dose..b/c you need sleep for memory and rest...also if you exercise late it give you more energy and you have a hard time falling asleep. try taking half a pill if it's a tablet in the mean time before telling you Dr...

ive been falling alseep now 3days staight and now the adderall finnally leaves my system after like 5 hours when i take which the dr told me was normal for the type of med i got. but thanks all for caring enough to answer my question., wish i could make every answer the best but i can. Report It

  • Please tell your doctor. My son at age 6 was on adderall and a couple of other like medicines. He ended up in the ER twice thinking he was having a heart attack. Today he is med free.

dude..! no! that will rot your brain! my good friend's older brother has a permanent learnign disability from taking adderal/ritalin throuhg his teens.

That's the easy way out anyway

brain therapy is the best treatment and you won't have to rely on pills...believe me i did 6 months of it and it worked wonders..!

seriously get off of that crap and do the therapy...it's worth it

this is what i'm talking about:

If you are truly ADHD the medication would not make you stay awake like that. I think you have the wrong dianosis. I take adderall and I can take a nap on 30 mg.

Adderall-XR is a powerful drug. Know of one case where an adult would be awake for 30 hours at a 5 mg dose and discontinued the Adderall-XR due to that.

It takes a little while to figure out what the drug does/doesn't do.

There are many cases where other drugs work better for ADHD that Adderall - drugs like Dexedrine, Ritalin, even coffee/caffeine compounds.

    Good luck.

I had similar problems with Adderall..its a good medicine for some, but it's really too potent on others. Im on Vyvanse now, which is a really new medicine, made by the same people (Shire) who make adderall. It's actually made for kids, but it works so much better for me than adderall did. I can sleep, I dont get jumpy, and I don't hyper focus. It's not something that gets advertised a lot to adults, but its worth a try if the adderall is too hard to handle.

Talk to your doctor but since this isn't a drug that has to build up nor lingers in your system you could cut these pills in half and see if 10mg won't help you but not keep you awake. If that doesn't work then you have just wasted a day and thats all.

The pill is 1/2 the remedy, sleep is the other half. If you can't get sleep then the pill's desired effects won't work well and you are left with only the crappy side effects.
