Do I suffer from depression?!

Question: I think I suffer from depression, I have two questions. First I have symptoms that I think are symptoms of depression, some of these are:

-feeling sad all the time
-feeling anxious for no reason
-feeling worthless
-tired allot
- sleepy
-suicidal thoughts
- constant nausea
-headaches
and constant crying. All of these symptoms I experience daily.
My first question is do I suffer from depression?

My second question starts off with a story , I had told my mother that I think I suffer from depression, she said " Michelle! everyone suffers from depression" Then I replied " mom, can I at least have a doctors point of view" My mother "he's just going to send you home, and say deal with it"
(my doctor is really like that)

How can I tell my mom that I truly think I suffer from depression?

You are depressed. I am depressed, and have had clinical depression for almost 2 years. And you need to start an ordeal with your mom so she can listen to you, like threaten to kill yourself, lock yourself up in the closet, or get angry at her.

In medical school the first thing they teach you is when ever you read the symptoms you're going to thing you have the disorder. But it does sound as though you have depression. Try explaining it to another trusted adult to explain it to your mother.

If you are tired alot or cannot be bothered with simple things such as washing your hair for example, then you may have depression. You should try going to a pshychologist, not a health doctor.

Firstly I think you should seea doctor...maybe a different one if he is that bad. No-one on this site can diagnose you. I will say one thing, depression is not the same as being depressed. If you have things in your life, family that are not good, then maybe you have reason to 'be depressed' this is not in itself a bad thing. Headache, tiredness and nausea can be caused by all sorts of things (hence the recommendation you see a doctor!)...maybe even something as simple as not eating right. A lot of peoplpe whe going through a bad time in their life will eat all the wrong things or not at all which acan cause some of the symptoms you described. If that is the case, try and eat well and get some exercise, this can help with 'being depressed' too. (Remember I am not saying you do not have depression, just that you should see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis)

I guess you are from US or UK so I don't know if it costs you to see a doc or it costs u a lot to see a doc, but reading about your conversation with your mom, I think, your mom ignores you a bit. Not in a bad way but she isnt necessarily serious about how depressed you are. Either coz you havent protruded your depression in front of her or she doesnt give a damn bout it now. So just go n see a doc yourself n get help!
Suicidal thoughts are always worrying!
