Answers: when you can't sleep and don't want to take drug to help you sleep. what best way?

you can get a natural pill called melatonine..it helps me

no caffeine after 6pm

warm bubble bath

1 glass of wine (or equivalent but stick to the one glass for medicinal / relaxation purposes!) or try a warm glass of milk?

try meditating,. even just sitting quietly breathing in and out for ten minutes...

I know you wanted a good way to sleep without taking a drug, but melatonin is something that your body already produces, so its not addictive or harmful.....also find something witha soft low constant humm. That always knocks me right out!

Exercise a couple hours before you go to bed and avoid high sensory activity such as watching screens or listening to loud music. If you're going to use a computer, turn the screen down to its lowest setting.

There are several reasons why people cannot fall asleep or cannot fall asleep immediately as they put their head on the pillow:

1. Problem: Your feet are cold. Solution: Warm up your feet and keep your head cool(in cool environment)

2. Problem: You're thinking too much. Solution: Don't participate in your thoughts. Don't think of what youwould say in this and that situation, what you would do etc.. Only follow your thoughts as it is a movie, they have nothing to do with you now !

3. Problaem: You are simply hungry or/and thirsty. Solution: Pls go and eat/drink something light. eg. fruits

4. Problem: You are simply not physically tired. Solution: Get tired physically by for example putting the music on and starting to dance anything.. the more crazy the better. Don't force yourself to go to bed, if you're not tired. Get tired first.

5. Problem: Your rhytm of going to bed and waking time is not what you want. Solution: Yes.. in this case you cannot do anything else than to force yourself to go to bed earlier if you want to wake up earlier, this would again require special day's activities to get you tired. As you will force yourself for the first days, then your body will carry on the rhytm by inertia.

Can you believe.. every morning I wake up at SHARP 6..!!! Automatically. Sometimes I wake up at 5:59 or 6:01, but it just tells that our bodies have the bilogical clock working perfectly..!!!

Close your eyes and try to relax and get all of the feelings about anything else out of your head. Then just relax and clear out your head and try to sleep. If it continues that you can't sleep you might want to think about taking something to help you sleep. Good Luck

Nothing works for me. I just stay awake until my body finally caves in, which can take 4 days sometimes. I was on some medication, some even addictive but they didnt work
