Honest; cutting? scars?!

Question: I want HONEST answers to this question about cutting.
I cut myself twice, the first time on Saturday and my second time today. I have a total of around 25 cuts i made with a razor. I just did it like i was shaving, except instead of going up like shaving i went sideways. the cuts look like a dog scratched me. I've decided to stop cutting. Anyway, how much of a chance is there that I'm going to get scars? PLEASE don't try to be like 'you shouldn't do that go get counseling" or whatever, because i am seeing a counselor and know what I've done is wrong. I'm just wondering if there's going to be scars and how to prevent them

Depending how deep they are can depend on the scaring. Also, if you scar easily. If they are relatively light, they may scar slightly but will go away within a few weeks. (I was a long time cutter for about 7 years and I still have severe scaring from what I did.) If you want to speed up the healing process by Vitamin E serum. Palmer's Cocoa Butter co. has a good solution.

Hope this helps :)

Use plain petroleum jelly as a covering. It will prevent hard scabs from forming (which delay healing, and thus scarring).

Apply it frequently to keep it moist.

i dont think there will be a scar....i never got a scar when i cut myself a few times witha razor...it took a while but no scars now

well take it from someone who cut themselves 128 times in a week yeah there will b scaring and just dont mess with them make sure ur cleaning them and once they heal u can get medican to heal the scars so i hope i helped

Use Neosporin or some type of Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline. This will delay scarring and keep hard scabs from forming. Keep it moist and make sure that you clean the wounds. I would also see a skin specialist

ur prolly gonna get scars....how noticeable they will be depends on how deep you cut......they might look red for quite a while too........my cutting has always been few and far between.....i want to get some of the bigger ones tattooed over now that its been a while (the tattoo guy tole me to wait at least a year for the scar tissue to be strong enough to withstand the tattooing process), i have a couple small scars on my forearm from prolly ten years ago, but its not really noticeable.......you should see about buying some of that mederma stuff at the store, its supposed to reduce the visibility or amount of scar tissue (something along those lines )...i think neosporin works for that too......

arnica gel is good for healing and scars and bruising etc bio oil is also advertised as good for scars and stretch marks etc,
what you did wasn't necessarily wrong i can relate i did something similar and for my experience it was a way of removing the stress i was feeling and it only happened the one time i think you sometimes have to experiment with dealing with your emotions i think by posting this you may be at the stage where you need to talk about whats in your mind and why you did it. good on you for admitting to it and getting it of your chest
good luck xxxxx
