Have you ever heard of door knob suicide with a belt around the neck?!
Question: A relative just committed suicide on Sunday and everyone is in shock. I've never heard of the way he did it, but he hung himself on the door knob of the closet with his belt. His butt was inches off the ground. Is that possible? If so is it a trend, or something that is done in prison or places we don't really hear about?
It just doesn't make sense to me how you can do that or how someone could put full weight of about 200 lbs on a doorknob without it snapping?

Sorry For Your Loss My Son Did this last August with a bootlace he was 28 years old his wife left taking his daughter with her .It has been shown on TV prisoners use to do it off the iron bars in their cells you jump upwards lifting the feet up the weight of the body does the rest .As a parent after 5 months I am still not over it ,I am told some people never get over it but I am having councilling and hope that works.He would have been 29 last friday one of the hardest fridays in my life .I am not after your sympathy God knows I had enough of that .Just remember and tell your friends if anyone says they are going to commit suicide TAKE IT SERIOUSLY !!!

I actually tried to kill myself like this once....when you think about it, not everybody has access to something high to hang themselves from, but everybody has doorknobs.
