Not everyone can be happy happy joy joy 100% of the time.
I was in a depression for months. I have bi polar. But I am learning to take care of myself and love myself. Everynight after dinner I treat myself to a homeade icecream sundae, I live in warm climate so I am swimming every night to get out of the apartment. My husband and I are on a tight bugdet so we go to parks and preserves and pack a picnice lunch and enjoy being in the moment and we LOVE the fresh air and sunshine. We take walks almost every night. I am starting to read again not just be on the computer.

As for talking to people some people find it easier than others it may be better for you to talk to someone one on one that with a awesome group of people. There is nothing wrong with this triat you have. We need people and we need one another but sometimes you just need quiet and rest away from the drama of life and people.

Sadness is an emotion like being happy or glad Let yourself cry when you need to. I stuffed my emotions and stopped crying and I slept too much now I am allowing myself to be human and feel the hurt pain and disappointment I have been through and I am not over sleeping as much. And as a result I am starting to heal and go forward.

To feel better about yourself you need to love yourself unconditionally and friendships take time. I moved 3000 miles from home to start a new life and people out west don't get together nearly as much as they did back east. So I have parties from time to time and have people over and it is wonderful. You might want to try having a small get together of people.

You could have icecream, cake, appetitzers, choclate covered strawberries it does not have to be expensive and over the top to be speical. Are there any clubs you can join or a church you feel good about going to.

If you dont like talking about your sadness write in a journal your private feelings and pray to God prayer is talking to God and he will always listen because he loves you. The fact that you were brave enough to post this shows you are ready to heal and go forward I wish you all the very best e4g

it feels like everything is grey, and that nothing is important.
nothing matters, and nothing will ever get better. Worst of all, you can't be convinced that there is ANYTHING that will make things better.

and you cry over things you don't even care about.

That stuff can be normal and it can also be intrusive to your life.

I've never been OFFICIALLY diagnosed with depression but I can tell you that sometimes it is like being sad for no reason, but usually it is like little things make you really sad or upset even though they shouldn't affect you that much.
I think everyone is different.

I cry about everything and i get really upset and frustrated about little things.. especially if more than one little-thing happens in the same small amount of time. Spilling a cup of water can feel like a friend moving away sometimes. im not sure if it is depression or an annoying persnality trait.

It feels like either you are curled up in a little hole and everybody is just walking over you, or you have no emotion at all. You are just in a white room floating. there's no sound, you can't see, smell, hear, or anything else. You just go through he day subconciously because you're too sad to function.

It can lead to other symptons. Insomnia, racing thoughts, it can even change physical appearance. It's horrible.

That's what it feels like.

Well from depressed person I would say your are depressed.
Don't worry you have just taken the first step. I listen to relaxation tapes when I am really bad and before I go to sleep.
I like to make sure that I laugh a lot. Take baby steps when it is hard to talk to people. Cry when you need to . Keep a journal maybe something is triggering it. Talk to your doctor you may need some meds.
If you like to read, Read the book called The Secret it will WOW you.
I take some meds but the 3 months I have been taking a natural product and it has changed a lot in my body, if you want to check out the web site please take a tour and watch the videos, ask questions on the contact button.

Clinical depression is a physical disorder that causes sadness for no reason. Typical symptoms include feeling tired and loss of appetite. Medications can treat depression. Also, vitamins, exercise and exposure to sunlight will help in some cases. That's why people get depressed more in winter, they are not outside as much.

It literally feels like the life has been sucked out of you.
Like.... you could crawl in a corner and cry, die, and rip out your hair.
It feels like nothing will ever be the same as it was before.
Like..... you have no reason to live.

you might have it But I hope not I know excatly how you feel!

If you are worried that you might be depressed, please talk to someone about it.

If you go to school, talk to the school nurse, or counselor.

If you work, check to see if your place of business has an employee assistance program.

You could also see if your community or nearby community has a mental health center where you could get some help.

Whether you are depressed or not, you could benefit by running this by someone who could assess your problem properly and help you the best way possible.

God Bless.

Everyone feels down from time to time, but some people struggle much more than others. Depression is a serious mental illness. It can have a tremendous impact on all aspects of life, including work and family.

Many people consider depression to be nothing more than a chemical imbalance in the brain, but this is an overly simplistic way to look at it. The truth is that depression is caused by a combination of many different factors, including a person
