Reading and sleep?!

Question: Why is it that everytime I go read at the library, I become very sleepy? Is there a way to avoid this, other than sleeping longer.

I used to have the same problem! Okay, if possible, try this: go to a public place where most likely you won't know anybody, such as a fast food restaurant. It's sort of like the old joke, "Aw, Mom, I can do homework and watch t.v.!" Not that you could do that, ha ha, but maybe you need more movement than you get in a library. Sit down, get a cold drink, lots of light, activity, a place where you can spread out your books all over the table and not worry about it, get up as much as you need and spritz your face with cool water, whatever you need. It might feel weird the first time, but I know for me, it really worked. I never got anything done at the library!
Now, if you absolutely HAVE to be at the library, drink something right before you go in, consider your main goals, STAND alot instead of sitting, get up and walk around, and if there happens to be a different type setting there, like a plush chair, do that.
Overall analysis: the library is calm and quiet -- perfect for inducing sleep!

Sure WAKE UP!!!

read under a bright lamp and maybe drink some caffeine about a 1/2 hour before.

You may need to see an eye doctor. Usually it's a sign that you are straining your eyes.

drink coffee or tea
