Do u think pharmacists should be allowed to prescribe all types of medicines oth!
Question:
Do u think pharmacists should be allowed to prescribe all types of medicines other than the doctor?
Answers:
well, contrary to sgt. whatever, pharmacist have 6 years of intense training on DRUGS and PHARMACOTHERAPY which means we have to learn all the disease states, their treatments, their side effects, and so much more i can't even list it all! When i was on rotations, i was with doctors all day in a hospital setting. They came to me for reccommendations for medication and dosing and regimines. this is happening in hospitals all over the US, your private practice doctor is kind of swinging and missing, everyday i get drugs that don't exist, made up strengths, incorrect dosing... there are so many affordable drug choices out there and the top 200 drugs are basically the drugs from the last 5 years, if a pharmacist would work collaboratively with an MD or a DO then you would see far less errors and better therapy. We are DOCTORS of pharmacy for a reason and i hope this movement is made very soon!
