Has anyone conquered a phobia?

I'm terrified of Flying, but my boyfriend is moving to Japan in a couple of months and Im desperate to go out and see him. Unless I want a very expensive and long train ride, I have to fly.
I know people respond in different ways to treatments, but what has worked for you or people you know?

Oh, and I forgot to say...
I tried taking sleeping pills perscribed to me last time I flew, but they didnt work. My poor boyfriend's hand suffered the crushing consequences.

If he's going to Japan then he's obviously a bit of an adventurer

u sound like u really love him - if the feelings mutual then it would be better to wait for him to come back - the relief u will get when he comes back will be better than if u interrupt his trip - if he doesn't come back to u then he's not worth it
