Does anyone have a herbal remedy for bronchitis? I have heard of one but can't recall the name!?


Answers:

As long as it is not as infection this will help

finely mince one tsp of fresh thyme and mix with it one tsp of honey take orally as needed trough out the day

it will soothe inflammed lungs and airways

if you want to stop coughing
make a chest compress with eucalyptus and massage oils to loosen phlegm and inprove lung function.

to do this mix mix 10 drops of the eucalyptus oil with 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil of grape seed oil
too much eucalyptus oil can irritate the skin so you have to mix it with another oil.
KEEP IT AWAY FROM CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 6

To ppurify the sickroom to help make sure others will not get it

Eucalyptus oil is the ideal essence to use in a sickbed environment. Five drops of the oil in a diffuser (a glass bowl with a candle under it to heat it you can get them at walmart) will kill germs in the air and reduce the nember of airborne bacteria. this will help keep germs from spreading.

If you have a sore throat gargle with calendula tea
to make tea
pour one cup of boiling water over 1-2 tsp of dried calendula petals steep for ten min than strain.

what you are not going to use in two hours keep in the fridge so bacteria will not build up in it

Making a tea with rose hips will help you to get over your cold
because they are so rich in vitamin C which strengthens the immune systsem they also have antibiotic and anti inflammatory properties to them

using fresh ginseng tea will boost immune function
make a tea using 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginseng to one cup of boiling water you can have three cups a day

Chamomile tea
for flu and cough
the germicidal effect of a chamomile vapor helps destroy the germs that cause flu and alleviates coughing pour 2 qts of hot water over 2 cups of chamomile flowers cover your head with a towel and inhale the vapors. Make sure the steam is not hot enough to burn you.

WARNING DO NOT USE THIS METHOD IF YOU SUFFER FROM CARDIOVASCULAS DISASE

FIRST AID FOR SORE THROATS
peppermint tea
because of its germicidal effect strong peppermint tea is a good preventive remedy to use at the first sign of a sore throat make a fresh batch of tea allow it to cool to lukewarm and gargle several times a day.

what you are not going to use in a couple of hours keep in the fridge

For coughing fits
1 1/3 oz st john's wort
2/3 oz thyme
2/3 oz linden flowers
mix well and keep in an air tight container
use tsp of the herb mix per cup of boiling water to soothe irritations of the upper respiratory tract that cause coughing. this tea has proved helpful with bronchitis and whooping cough steep for ten mins and strain

You do not need to do all of these just pick and choose
you can find all of these things at a health food store
