Is it possible to take to many antioxidents?!

Question:

Is it possible to take to many antioxidents?

I take garlic, grape seed extract, and vitamin C. Am I over doing it?

Answers:

Yes, you can overdose on vitamins that you ingest in tablet or capsule form. However, if you get these vitamins from their natural food source then there is no harm. Here are some side effects of a few:

More than 100 mgs of Vitamin E daily, taken for a long period of time, may cause bleeding, blood clots, and breast tumors.

Mega doses of Vitamin C may cause diarrhea and gas, and should not be taken if you are on chemotherapy, as you could actually be feeding the cancer cells.

An overdose of Vitamin B6 may cause memory loss and motor control loss.

Overdosing on Iron interferes with the body's ability to absorb zinc.

Megadoses of Vitamins A & D daily, taken for a long period of time, may cause liver damage, hair loss, and blurred vision.

Constipation can be a side effect of taking vitamins and/or medications. Drink plenty of water, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, take a fiber supplement, get plenty of fresh air, and exercise according to your body's abilities.
