The reason I'm looking for a full spectrum light is because my son is EXTREMELY difficult to wake up in the morning, and I want a light that will help him wake up if I turn it on an hour before he needs to get up. The light from his window and the regular light fixture in his room don't do the trick. I've tried a lot of different things, and none have worked. (And yes, he's getting enough sleep.) I don't know if this would work or not, but if it would then I don't mind spending the money.
Answers:
That would depend on what you want the full spectrum lights for... if it's to ease the blahs of Seasonal Affective Disorder then no, you will need a STRONG source of light for that and the larger arrays are more suitable for that. If it's just to add a more pleasant light to a room then full spectrum CFL's ARE just as good and cheaper to use than incandescent bulbs.
Just remember that there is a tiny amount of Mercury in them and when it's time to get rid of them, dispose of them through a Flourescent bulb recycler and NOT in the regular trash.
