I've heard once you have Mono, you always have it... Does this mean you can always pass it on?

Can you never share a drink or kiss anyone without giving them Mono?
Why haven't they found a vaccination if this is so common?

I have a virus called CMV. Its the same symptoms as mono. People get it mixed up. Its a virus that about 80 percent of the world has. Its only contagious when you have outbreaks of the virus. Just like mono. So to answer your question yes but no if that makes sense. Its true they should find a vaccination for it. It can last up till six months. I was so sick. Its the worst feeling ever. If you have a bad immune system its even worse.They are the same virus cmv and mono. Theres no medication to help it . So if you have it, eat right, exercise and sleep. This way your immune system works well and you will avoid outbreaks. Hope I helped.
