just quit slacking and pay attention. Everybody gets distracted, but those of us who dont want to fail pay attention anyways. Dont take drugs.
Go back to the psychiatrist and explain your difficulty in concentration even on the Adderall. He is the only one who can diagnose and add additional medication to help you. I take other medication with my Adderall. Everyone is different and your psych can figure it out better for you than YA.
My daughter & I both have ADD/ADHD. Reading what you had to say made me very sad. It reminded me of the struggles my daughter had in school. The school refused to test her, eventhough we had the right to have her tested. We finally had to take her to a Neurologist ourselves. We had to fight for her rights in school. Check to see if you can get a 504 Plan or IEP in school. We had the 504 Plan for our daughter. With this she was allowed extra time on tests, got study guides & other help that she needed. She stayed after school for extra help & asked for extra credit assignments. She got on the honor roll. It greatly helped her self esteem. She also found things she enjoyed doing, like singing. She joined some clubs & started to volunteer at the animal shelter. We started fostering kittens in our home. The kittens helped to make her feel useful & was relaxing. When you have ADD you can still learn & do well, but you have to find a way of doing things in a way that works for you. When I was in school, my parents kept trying to get me to do my homework in a quiet place. I did much better with the TV on though, or some music. I also couldn't finish assignments all at once; I'd have to start, go to something else & come back to it. Have your parents check out some of the sites on line, so they can learn more about it to help. They should also learn what your rights are as a student. Our daughter is attending Community College now & hopes to go on. She went from feeling disabled & "dumb", to being able to do more than she thought she could. Good luck.
