People who have ended up with argyria (blue skin) have been people who took ionic silver thinking it was colloidal silver. It could be regarded as unwise to make your own colloidal silver because in most cases you will end up with ionic silver.
Argyria has been publicized quite a bit in recent years so people tend to think that colloidal silver is dangerous to take. True colloidal silver is quite safe to take but fake colloidal silver is not safe at all.
Apparently true colloidal silver products contain from 20%-80% of colloidal silver and from 80%-20% of ionic silver. Fake colloidal silver products contain 100% ionic silver and that can lead to argyria.
There are detailed discussions on true colloidal silver products in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22t…
Pure distilled water does not conduct electricity. You, my friend, are being completely fooled. You are dunking metal rods into plain water, doing nothing, then drinking it. And of course it's useless, just like normal colloidal silver.
"Bull-cookies"
Distilled water will not ALLOW a current to run between two electrodes suspended in it, whether they are made of silver, gold, iron, carbon or carefully-crafted bull-droppings!
"and i almost never wash my hands."
That is all.
I'm not an expert, but I believe purified water is a very poor conductor of electricity. You may just be drinking water lol.
"Real" colloidal silver is silver molecules suspended in water. I'm not sure what kind of distinction you're trying to make between that and what you're attempting at home.
Unfortunately, I can't take the anecdotes of family and friends, I need actual evidence. That whole skin turning blue is a deal breaker for me. Risk without benefit.
Your theory is garbage.
You said:
This current releases positive silver electrons into the water and binds with the waters molicules on a sub-atomic level creating a new substance, no longer water or silver, ...
There is no such thing as "positive silver electrons." All electrons are identical, and all electrons carry a negative charge.
"binds with the waters molicules on a sub-atomic level"
Electrons are sub-atomic. As all electrons are identical, this is a meaningless statement. Typical non-scientific babble.
It is possible that silver ions are emitted by the electrodes, and ionic silver can interact with the hydroxide ions already present in the water. Silver hydroxide has very low solubility in water, and will precipitate out, so there will be very few silver ions in solution.
Your knowledge of chemistry is too meager for anyone with chemist training to take you seriously. And your claim of health effects of silver are merely anecdotal, which means they are stories that have not be substantiated by an independent party.
There are other reasons people say collodial silver is bad, and it's because silver has not been proven to be more effective, and less expensive, than other treatments and remedies. Which is why hucksters promote it.
You've had no ill effects because it is having NO effect at all. And I can assure you that taking colloidal silver in any form will not stop you from catching a virus. It's not a vaccine you know. There is a good reason why it is illegal in the US and other countries to market colloidal silver with any health claims. Its a dangerous scam - most people ingest actual particles.
Sounds like you, your family and friends are falling for confirmation bias and placebo effect.
EDIT: It's easy to fall for such scams, especially when they are promoted with pseudoscience. These hucksters prey upon people who lack basic science knowledge. It not that the victims are necessarily stupid, it's usually because they simply don't have the skills required to detect such frauds.
