I accidentally had 2800 IU of vitamin D today from supplements alone?!
Question: I accidentally had 2800 IU of vitamin D today from supplements alone?
The only foods today that I had wich contain more than a negligible amount of vitamin D are half a cup of light, Vitamin D fortified orange and a quarter cup of a breakfast cereal with vitamin D ( I just checked the box).
If it affects it (I don't know if it would), I also didn't eat very much today. About 500 calories only (don't yell at me, I was busy during lunch time and had a stomach ache at breakfast so I couldn't eat much at either meal).

You'll be ok. I have to take 5,000 a day because I am low, but just once you'll be ok. I looked it up once, you have to take a whole lot more than that like everyday for weeks before you would worry.
5000 iu a day is the recommended maintenance dose in the winter, so you didn't take enough actually.
Forget those percent daily value labels. RDA's are just guesstimates without any proper research and in many instances way outdated information. They're just bare minimums and are meaningless.
Mercola.com has excellent information on OPTIMAL vitamin and mineral intake.
No, you are fine for today, just remember to check the bottles next time..This is what I do since I take lots of vitamins, I get a empty meds bottle and use black marker and cross off the reading on it and write my name on it and put all my vitamins in it the night before so it won't get too confusing around here..good luck =)
Don't worry about it.
I accidentally ate over 1,000,000 IUs of vitamin A. I immediately called a poison control center to find out what I should do. Fortunately, that much vitamin A wasn't fatal, because they were out to lunch and it took over 3 hours before they got back with me - so much for an emergency response center.
Anyway, I was told that with it only being a one-time thing, I would be okay.
I was and so will you.
Supplements are more forgiving than the chemicals that the drug companies put out.
