brown discharge from an ear infection...wtf?!

Question: Brown discharge from an ear infection...wtf?
I've had an ear infection for the past week in a half - during that time, I've gone to the doctor, gotten prescribed drops (which have helped for the most part), but now I am slowly leaking brown fluid discharge and I am also feeling shooting pains throughout my head and neck. Less frequently then before, however, they are still present.

What is this? Am I still in trouble? =/

Help ASAP, please. What should I do? Wait it out, or go to an EMT?

Answers:

Go to an Urgent Care if you can't get to your regular doctor. I don't think it needs the emergency room, but you need to be seen. You have suppurative otitis. And you very well may have a hole in your ear drum. I have had this in the past and it hurts like crazy. It has to be seen about, don't wait.
