Of what value is B12 shots?!
Question: Of what value is B12 shots?
Answers:
I personally suffer from pernicious anaemia (B12 deficiency) and shots are necessary every 12 weeks as i can not absorb B12 though the stomach (i do not create enough intrinsic factor) as most other people can.
Lack of B12 affects the nervous system (causing dizziness, tingling of nerves, shakes, migraines etc)
If this is not treated with injections it can be fatal.
this type of anaemia is very different to iron deficiency anaemia

It is necessary if you have a B12 deficiency. This can have extremely serious effects including neurological.
Vegetarians and especially vegans are at high risk of B12 deficiency. Meat eater less so.
Some people lack something called Intrinsic Factor that makes it difficult to absorb B12 orally. In any case it is felt that the oral supplementation even if you don't lack Intrinsic Factor is not 100 %. How much it is, is hard to say, it depends on age and other factors.

B-12 shots are invaluable (and life saving) to people with that condition - there are many causes for it - and it is just one example off the top of my head.
Most people can get enough vitmamins from food - but most is not all.
Of course. They're available in tablets. Supplemental vitamins aren't necessary at all if you have a balanced and nutritional diet though.
some people cannot absorb it or have a lot of deficiency in B12.
Your vitamins are not enough sometimes.
My husband received them too. Lack of B12 can have multiple side effects.
