Is Sundown Naturals Fish Oil Safe To Take?!
Question: Is Sundown Naturals Fish Oil Safe To Take?
Answers:
Hi Card. I am not familiar with this specific brand, but fish oils in general are "safe to take". Fish oils are processed, and thus, do not contain mercury.
Cod liver oil contains Vitamin D, but "Fish oils" do NOT contain vitamin D. Also, the answer warning about the dangers of Vitamin D is NOT consistent with modern research on vitamin D. Toxicity has NOT been shown from Vitamin D intakes of 10,000 IU per day for six months in healthy subjects.
Best wishes and good luck.
The short answer is yes. However one should be cautious of how much and how often one takes as too much Vitamin D can cause toxicity that is not pleasant. If your General Practitioner/Doctor suggests you take it, then make sure not to take a heavy dose long term. For example taking 5,000 IU a day over 6 months or longer can cause toxicity, including nausea and potentially irregular heartbeat
Don't know the brand, but just find out if they remove the mercury in filtration.
I have taken it before with no problem.
