That's all there is to it.
Tolerance isn't based entirely on receptor availability.
I'm not sure what drug you would be using that would antagonize dopamine only, either. Most have an array of effects on various receptors, not just the dopaminergic ones.
To that point, not all dopamine ant/agonists work on all types of dopaminergic receptors. Some are unaffected, others bind partially, others completely, some are destroyed.
Also, I think you're mistaking cocaine for a dopamine antagonist when, in fact, it's a dopamine AGONIST (amongst things).
In fact - it makes NO sense. there are no such things as "dopamine neurons" and neurons don't "reach" receptors. The receptors are ON neurons (and lots of other cell, too) - NEUROTRANSMITTERS cross the SYNAPSES, etc, etc, etc
Go back and actually learn about neurotransmission and then come back and ask an intelligent question.
