Yes. http://www.drugs.com/flexeril.html says "Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain.
Flexeril is used together with rest and physical therapy to treat skeletal muscle conditions such as pain or injury."
Granted, it may be used for other purposes, but if your doctor is prescribing it, they would be the best place to ask as to why they are prescribing it. Good luck and I hope I helped!

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer, but with my experience when taken as directed, the miligram i was given .... I would take 1 when i was supposed to but over 2 or 3 days i would have to take a little more because i was immune to it. DONT DO IT... by the end of the week i was taking 2 and a half to get the same effect as the 1st dose the 1st day... I relaxed my bladder so bad i had to strain like i was constipated to urinate. and even then i could not empty my bladder.
