Overdose on Amoxicillin please help!!!?!

Question: Overdose on Amoxicillin please help!!!?
My sister went to the dentist and has an infection in her tooth. The dick head dentist said to take 4 tablets a day and they are 500mg. She has been having severe abdominal cramps and they are so bad that she has been crying in pain, can't lay down or stand up, she is crouched in the most comfortable position she can find.

I have phoned the doctor and he has just said the dose was way too high, she is only 17, 5.5 ft and 8 stone. So she has over dosed and the doctor said she will get bad cramps and loose stools.

I just want to know when the pains will go and if i can sue the **** for putting my sister in agony.

5oomg 4 times a day is 2g in 24 hours. The BNF (British National Formulary) reference book used by Doctors and Dentists says the standard dose for a dental abcess can be as much as 3g repeated after 8hours, so the Dentist has not overdosed your Sister. However, Amoxycillin belongs to the same group of drugs as Penicillin, which many people are very sensitive to or even allergic. If your Sister has never taken this before, then it just unfortunate that she is suffering this reaction.

You should telephone the Dentist that is treating your sister and ask for their advice because if she has stopped the Amoxycillin now but still has the infection, the Dentist may need to prescribe a different antibiotic for her, otherwise her infection may get worse.

Tell your Sister that in the future if anyone prescribes antibiotics for her in the future she must tell them she has had this reaction to Amoxycillin.

British National Formulary (BNF). I am a nurse.

She could greatly benefit from a massive dose of probiotics, ideally something like Bio-K at the health food store. Some grocery stores sell it. Plain organic yogurt will help in a pinch (lots of it), but she needs the real deal.
Talk to a lawyer.

That's a pretty standard dose...you'll be hard pressed to find a lawyer to take the case, for a long list of legal reasons. However, have her eat things such as soup, hot cereals (oatmeal, cream of wheat) for a day or so...a little pepto wouldn't hurt.

Love the fox by the way.
