What is it called!? The short answer is No, you should not become dependant on it!.
Also, it is probably not a "laxative" but more of a "stool softener" or something similar!. It could be a laxative I suppose, but it won't be like Ex-Lax (hard on your stomach)

a prescribed laxative!? dang, just some warmed prune juice will unlock those bowels!. oh well, and since it's prescribed it probably can become more dependent than OTC versions!.
