Do you take any vitamins or supplements to reduce anxiety?!


Question: I've found a few that do and i want to see which ones i may have missed. I mean who would have thought that calcium reduced anxiety but it seems to work.

It's wonderful to see your determination, however just taking vitamins and supplements tends to treat only your symptoms, so keep with it. Consider getting some guidance on the emotional/ stress challenges that are the cause of the anxiety. Many people misunderstand the concept of alternative medicine, & immidiatley want to replace conventional meds with a herbal/vitamin tablet instead. Alternative med is a holistic approach, taking into consideration body, mind , spirit.

My husband uses a homeopathic formula for anxiety that has worked really well for him. It's a Hyland's brand called Calms. You can buy it at RiteAid or Walgreens.

If you are using a calcium supplement, be sure you use a 2:1 ratio of magnesium with it, plus added vitamin D.

A Vitamin B Complex will reduce anxiety.

Your calcium supplement sounds like a good one, I don't know about the added 'K' tho. Vitamin K fat-soluble vitamin, meaning it won't flush out thru urine and could toxify your liver. But perhaps in a small dose it may be fine. We can't supplement here with K.. its illegal here.

Another form of supplement in the herb family is St. John's Wort, this has been used many times for anxiety. But it comes with a drawback, you can't spend any length of time in the sun while on it. It may increase your skin
