the only thing i know witch hazel is used for is to keep the complexion clear of acne. they sell it in the cosmetics department where i work by all of the facial cleaners. happy holidays!
it's excellent for itch on but bites, etc. but I use it to make a paste with baking soda for poison ivy. it's also good in the bath and helps exfoliate your skin if used on your face with a cotton ball

Witch Hazel is used for numerous things. As others have mentioned, but it's mainly used for hemorrhoids. I also recommend it for new mothers who had episiotomy.
