Help with finding the right birth control pill?

To start off - I hate birth control. I am 25 and have struggled to find one that is compatible with my body since I was 18. I am hoping that if I give more info someone could recommend a brand or whether I need low or high doses of either of the hormones. Here's my history: Age 18: started out on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, only side effect: 1 week out of the month I would get morning sickness (vomiting). To try to combat the vomiting I was switched to Alesse. Did well on that for a year, then began getting migraines bad, very moody, and loss of sex drive, so stopped Alesse and they were immediately gone. From then on it has been trial and error. I've tried Yasmin, Ortho-Cyclen, Ortho Tri-Cylcen Lo, the Patch, and Nuva Ring. My complaints are the same: moodiness and depression, low sex drive, and migraines. These effects were not as bad with the ring, but still present. I am wondering if these are from the low doses. I wonder if my body would respond better to a higher dose.

I have talked with doctors about this and haven't gotten much help. Most just seem to want to give me samples and get me out the door rather than sit and look at the hormone levels in all the pills and figure out a solution.

you need to schedule an appointment with your gyn. discuss the non-hormonal options available to you because of your sensitivity.
