My menstrual cycle went from 5 days to 7 and sometimes it lasts even longer, is !

Question:

My menstrual cycle went from 5 days to 7 and sometimes it lasts even longer, is this normal?

This started happening after I had an allergic reaction to some medicine and I went to the doctor and they prescribed me Prednisone (steroid) to help clear the reaction. During the time I took this, I was on my period (the doctor knew). My menstrual cycle didn't stop for a good 13 days. Now, my menstrual cycle hasn't been the same ever since then. What should I do? Or is there anything that I can do?

Answers:

Ok, first of all, whoever that person was that said you could try going on birth control needs to know that birth control can't always fix those type of female problems. If you are positvely sure that this happened AFTER the allergic reaction, then I suggest you should go back to the doctor and DEMAND that they take a look and run some tests. Nobody wants to have a doctor looking up there, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck and I hope everything goes well for you.
