Tampon help???

ok im 14 and i can't for the life of me use a tampon. I've been using pads for more than 2 years now and it's relaly getting annoying!! now that it's summer I want to be able to enjoy myself everyday, not have to take a week off eery month because of my period. I want to be able to swim and relax and be comfortbale, and frankly, pads just won't let me do that. I've tried using tampons, I've read practically every sight on them, I follow the directions perfectly (well obvoiulsy not totally perfectly b/c I cna't do it!!) and the stupid things just won't go in!! it hurts like crazy I htink im trying to stick it in the rong hole?? i mean i don't no which one it is? i want to try playtex slimfits but I'm afraid to ask my mom (the ones I've tried are larger, more for adults). My frend let me borrow one of hers (a teen regular, not slimfit) and it still didn't wrk. I need helpppppp!!! pleeeeez and ASAP I'm supossed to go to the pool in 3 days!! thnx<33

Buy the kind that are ROUNDED on top. Those won't hurt. They shouldn't hurt putting them in, and when it is in, you shouldn't feel it at all. OK; If you're right-handed, hold the tampon in your right hand with your middle finger on the opening.(where the string is.) With you left hand, separate your lips with your left thumb and middle fingers. There's only one hole. With your right finger, push it all in all the way. Then pull all of it out with your thumb and first 3 fingers. When you're flowing hard, there will be blood on the end of the plastic. (not the end you're touching.) And, hopefully, only the string will be hanging out. When you're flowing a lot, you will need the supers. It doesn't matter what your age is, or if you're a virgin. If you still have trouble, I hope you and your girlfriend can lose any modesty. When she's on her period , have her let you watch her put it in. And when you're on yours, have her be right there to walk you through it. Next time you go to the bathroom, take your middle finger, and find the whole.
