Would this be a bladder infection?!
Question: Would this be a bladder infection?
Answers:
I think you mean urinary tract infection.. Actual bladder infections are very serious. But it could be a UTI. Your period wouldn't have anything to do with it, nor would itching (but that could be associated with a yeast infection too) but burning when you pee is a common symptom of UTI's. It's often accompanied by a persistent urge to go and then hardly having anything in you to pee out. It is a good thing you're going to the doctor because something does sound wrong, and it could be a urinary tract infection.
Azo makes over the counter pain relief from UTI's that you can take until you get antibiotics. You just buy them from the store. They also make cranberry supplements that you can take daily to help prevent future ones. Cranberry juice doesn't do much to help UTI's once you have them but it helps prevent them by making the inner urinary tract less susceptible to infection. If you're sexually active it also helps a lot to always urinate as soon as you can after sex, to flush any bacteria that may have made it's way into your urinary tract out.
If it burns when you pee, smells odd and/or if your urine is cloudy then it is most likely a bladder infection (UTI). Drink lots of water and/or cranberry juice and also never forget to take the antibiotics that your doctor will give to you and it should go away soon.
