Question: Just started NuvaRing BC and am very worried. need answers immediately.?
I currently started my new birth control around a week and a half or two weeks ago. I read the instructions and followed it as I should starting it while on my period and so forth. The problem is after a few days of starting it my period was regular but then the blood became black. I still have not stopped bleeding black blood and it seems that it is beginning to actually come more! in the first week or so it was only spotting but now it is like I am on my period again but miscolored! I also have gotten very sick even though iv been taking medicine for past 3 weeks and vitamin C since my boyfriend also became very sick. For past 2 days I have had a pounding headache to wear even if I just move around to throbs badly to where I dont want to do anything. I am worried that I am getting sick because of my nuvaring because when my boyfried was sick it was not same symptoms. I AM VERY WORRIED! please help :(

I also use the nuvo ring. I am not a doctor and rarely give medical advice like the following but tonight I am going to tell you what you have to do. You have to take the ring out immediately and call your doctor tomorrow morning. It might be a side effect from your boyfriend being sick. Being sick can alter hormone levels and cause period problems. Your problem sounds severe. When a birth control is causing problems like severe headaches it can also lead to stroke. Since the Nuvo Ring is not a life supporting medication that you need to take, I would remove it and see if you find relief. It's better to have to use a condom and have protected sex than to have medical complications due to having used a medication that is toxic for your body.

I really hope you feel better. I had trouble with a different brand of birth control once. I felt miserable and I can only imagine how rotten you feel. Please PROMISE me that you will seek medical treatment as soon as possible. This may not be a serious problem, however it could be a variety of SERIOUS healthcare issues that only a doctor can diagnose.

You need to go to the hospital immediately.

If you want, you can call your local emergency room and speak to a nurse.

DO this right now. You could have a systemic infection that could be life threatening. Call your doctor or hospital or go in to the emergency room right away.

You need to go see your gynecologist.
